MillenniumMan here...
« on: July 05, 2015, 02:55:55 PM »
I'm MillenniumMan, and I signed up to learn comms and maybe by years end get around to my radio license.
Currently living outside the realm of Lord Baltimore, formerly of Lake County, FL.

I see some of you guys from the AA site came here, so there's less of a learning curve in dealing with me. :)

Got question on where to start?

I am a big fan of www.hamtestonline.com

Many her used it including WLynn who went from zero to Extra in one day.

There is Technician, General and Extra.

Study for the Tech and General at the same time, just like Sac just did.

HTOL costs but it's well worth it if you can afford it.

There are several free sites, but I really like HTOL.

Here is the study method for HTOL

Hey MM... I managed to pass General after reading the AARL book (and not even my local guys like that AT ALL) and then 2 weeks of almost daily study at HTOL; about 2-3 hours a day. Well, more than that, the closer I got to test day. LOL.

I work better under stress.  :o

OK. I wasn't clear.

I passed tech AND general with that bit of study. I'm old; my brain doesn't work like it used to. It's more a sieve than a sponge. If I can do it, just about anyone can do it - you do have to be able to read English and be able to recognize a few trick questions.
