BrainFreeze! Setting 2 radios as a repeater
« on: May 22, 2016, 04:22:49 PM »
Ok here goes... I HAVE done it, successfully.
https://survivalcomms.wordpress.com/2016/05/22/setting-up-2-radios-as-a-repeater/

but on the same time there are 2 videos on YT that show it done with iffy wiring.
one is downright wrong and seems like a spoof.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_KrH86Dzhnc
He is connectins the 2 radios (speaker to mic) with a plug-to-plug stereo adapter wire

the other, i cannot believe he is fooling us, but his method does not sit well with me
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7H4XfZ_EmhA
he is using the same  plug-to-plug stereo adapter wire, but cuts the Ground cable
I trying to find the reason (maybe a short) that makes HIS trick to work.

you can see more in my article, but here are the relevant schematics of how I did it.

This is a very clever concept and I will read your article when I have more time.

I would think that this setup may require some experimenting with the audio levels.

well, it is not my idea, but i will take credit going the scientific way. LOLOLOL

it also needs vox fine tuning, but i used jusr 5.

if anyone has the time , could you try figuring how can it work with just cutting the ground wire of the connecring cable as that orher guy claims?
