Quality of the Kenwood KPS-15?
« on: June 25, 2014, 12:22:24 AM »
I have been thinking about getting one of these to power my Kenwood TM-281A 2M transceiver. Has anyone ever used one? An Astron RS-35A was recommended to me but I have not had any luck finding one. Plus it seems a bit large? Opinions?

the Astron RS-35A is quite easy to find,
http://www.aesham.com/transformer/astron-rs-35a/
http://www.hamradio.com/detail.cfm?pid=H0-004434
and you will never get a drop of RF noise from it,
and they last a very very long time,

I have the ALINCO DM-330MVT and it makes some noise on HF,
the variable resistor that sets voltage failed on me,
so I use the preset setting it has,
not a huge deal, but it is annoying

They're out there Toad, just keep looking. I've got an RS-35M (version with twin meters) which is very similar in spec. Yes, they are large and take up some space on your desktop.

I did not check for availability.
