FT-7900 tone
« on: October 03, 2016, 01:08:14 PM »
Does anyone know how to deactivate the PTT tone on a FT-7900?
I have been getting comments from other hams since I have had the radio and cannot figure out how to get ride of it.
Thanks

I'm curious for an answer too. I have a Yaesu handheld with the same issue. What ever works on the 7900 will probably work on mine too

Tevin, I have a FT-60 with the same problem. If I could find a fix it might work for both.
I have been through the manual many times to no avail!

AD thanks!
I was just on you tube researching it and someone had a review of the 7900 and mentioned the WIRES button on the radio and it's effects.  The nuke symbol is for the WIRES activation.  I will check it out in the morning :)

Looks like you Press the "Tone" Button until the ENC Display goes out...
