Windom and Vertical

I just ordered these, we'll see how they work to get me up and on the air as a perm solution to my HF hole.

If I get the center element up my flagpole, one end run to the house, the long end across the yard to the trees, Im hoping it will be what Ive needed.

I live at almost 5000 feet, on the side of a mountain, so my above ground elevation I think isnt a problem as it would be in the valley floor. I want to say my flagpole is 15 feet, so it will be an experiment for sure.

Im also thinking about running a long wire to the top wire of the barbed wire fence on the property boundry, just for giggles with a balun and tuner. Ill use a mickey mouse ground off the balun to a water pipe, and some elec fence wire to the fence from the balun.

Its a resonably priced setup, everybody cross fingers.

Let me know how this works for you.  I am also looking for a antenna for my FT857D.

Oh yeah, Ill post up results and we have enough guys in AZ I can easily hit them with it NVIS in Phx.

Hopefully Ill get off my ass and run a little wire today, Ive always wanted to try the fence idea, I think the bottom strands will act as a reflector to force the signal up.

I have the same radio, and a Z11 Pro tuner, what are you running for a tuner?

Did he give you a S&H discount when you bought both?  The S&H is $12 each, did you pay 12.00 or 24.00?

He did the same for me, so S&H was $12 for the two items.

So far besides what the Ant cost, Ive pulled the choke paddle out of the chainsaw and scratched my new truck. Yup, this one is going to get expensive
