« on: August 18, 2016, 02:42:31 PM »
I found these in a locals tore and grabed one, as a field co-az repair item.

Anyone has any experience wth them and maybe some tips for better coax attachment?

I have some of these from the TV station I work at. I have used them with RG-58 and they seemed to work fine.

this is why I foudn them. I went to a store that services and installs TV system.
I am also thinking of adding half a stick of hot melt glue (secure the wires) and a bit heat shirink to the kit

if only they were made in SMA also!

Have not seen them. I do have these, which are basically the same thing:

They work well for their intended purpose.

I got the Amazon link from someone here on PH, don't exactly remember where. They were very inexpensive so I ordered two. Even though I don't have an immediate need for them, I thought it would be fun to try something different.

I'm going to try the BNC/banana jacks on my QRP setup. I would not put too many watts through these things!

Agree that power might be problematic, they are made for very low level rf signals like tv antenna lead ins.

I use to use them lots for the HT and they all worked fine
they can handle some power, but not if you are somewhere other than 50 ohms
so, don't use them after a tuner on HF

For the dipole I have used this one: http://frys.com/product/2366289?site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG
up to about 100 watts.
