Website of Real time Map showing best bands to use???
« on: April 26, 2012, 03:35:08 PM »
Hello everyone,
I think it was this group, but I BELIEVE I was in the chatroom one evening with someone (sorry, I can't remember who it was; otherwise, I would have PM'd them by now), and they shared a link in the chatroom that showed a map of the U.S. and where you currently were and an overlay of what bands would be best to use, given the current conditions, depending on where you were trying to reach, at that current time.
Unfortunately, I forgot to save as favorites in my browser. I have been Googling/looking everywhere for that same website and haven't been able to find it.
If someone could throw this dog a bone, I'd greatly appreciate it.

I suspect that it was "Me"....The link is    http://www.ips.gov.au/HF_Systems/6/6/1
and you select the closest city to you and then hit the display button...
then here is another link from the same site that does worldwide F2 predictions....

Ditto; thank you very much. I have the 'gadget' on my Win7 desktop from here. (Scroll down all the way past the display selection and the gadgets can be downloaded. Easy & they work.)

However, I really appreciate a good map since my local conditions may be different than the contemplated distant-end.
Nice addition - thanks again.
Salud.

BTPost, I thank you also for that link.    Wonder why it is that the best freqs are not in the ham bands.  Seems often the the best way is north of 40 and south of 20.
