500 MHz Anyone using it?
« on: February 23, 2017, 12:52:04 PM »
I have found on a couple of my Baofeng HT's that they will go above 500 MHz.  Anyone use these freqs?  I know the 70cm band (supposedly) stops at 450 MHz though many radios will go to 470 MHz.  I guess this would be the 63cm or perhaps 60 cm band.

There is no ham band in the 500 Mhz neighborhood, so if anyone is using it, it's illegal.

TV channels 14-36 operate in that range. Lots of wideband QRM if you dare use a handheld radio there.
