I hope everyone is trying for the 13 colonies! It is a radio contest to contact each of the original 13 states via many modes on HF. Those who know me know I hate contesting, but this one has defined goals of contacting the 13 colonies plus 2 extra credit stations in England. It's my first time doing it but it has been a load of fun! I know it's a bit of a challenge for those on the wrong side of the Mississippi river, but the host stations this year seem to be pointing the beams in that direction. Check out www.13colonies.net
Also, The month of July marks Boeing Aircraft's 100th anniversary. Look for W7FLY around the bands. I made the Seattle contact yesterday to get on the books, and St. Louis also has a strong station.
Also logged was W1G, a special events station for the Gettysburg civil war battle anniversary.
Have fun and get on that radio!

Sounds cool but I had to work today :(
Someone has to keep those bars up on your cellphone.

No worries, it's more than a one day fiesta.

I really didn't set out to get all 13 but I did get 6 just messing around. Conditions were not good at all.

Ditto on conditions. I got 6 solid SSB contacts and a number of not even near misses.

I did not have my radio shack put back together after our NPOTA event on April. Just to busy with work/travel. Missed it again this year.

I got all 13 plus the PA bonus station, but the two times I tried for the Great Britain station, asshats were playing music and recordings trying to stop anyone from making contacts. Some hams need to be removed from the hobby.
